WOW - looking back almost a year at these pictures makes me wonder how I ever got through this stage without freaking out! I'm pretty sure that I have a mild case of OCD so seeing my home in this much of a disaster sends heart palpitations through my body!
Well you can see, we started in the biggest problem area of our home...the kitchen. That in itself is a massive job costing anywhere between $10,000 and over $50,000 depending on what you plan on putting in your kitchen.
We had stipple ceilings throughout our main level, two walls closing in our kitchen and dining room which are now gone, this god awful brick style stick flooring (got that was brutal) and yes, matching GREEN appliances from the 40's I'm sure! LOL!
So down came the walls and ceiling and up came the floors and in went an island! All of that took us about 6 months to finish. You don't realize how much work it is until you start and can't see the end for a very long time. It's depressing. It's dirty. It's hard work. But we love everything about it!
PS the green text is a tribute to our fallen comrades the fridge and stove who are now long gone!
