It's time for the mid-year review - this is approximately in March - we started in December - as you can see we tore up the floor, refinished our cabinets, added new hardware, replaced our beauty GREEN appliances and tried something new for our counters.
Rather than doing the traditional granite counter tops and seeing as though this is a starter home/condo/first house flip, we knew we wouldn't get the return on the investment when it came time to selling. Andrew has a strong background in landscaping and loves rocks. He wanted to try out natural rock for counter tops....lo and behold - it worked and looks like granite and is super scratch and heat resistant...and I might add very original.
I chose some fairly expensive, okay for real, it was actually really expensive glass tile backsplash but it looks good, and it matched really well - yes, that was my justification...and yes, obviously it worked!!! We painted the walls a grey/taupe and recased all our windows which just opened everything up and let the natural light in that we thought we never had.
Next, were the floors and attacking the livingroom. This is where we're at now after an 8 month hiatus (for our wedding planning). Surprised that it takes this long? Don't be - try it and see where you get and how fast you DON'T get there!
I love renovating, I love renovating, I love renovating....truly I do!!! :)
